Frequently Asked Questions

TDCN (Transfer Days / College Nights)

  • The participant list access portal is available on August 1st. Instructions on how to download your list will be sent at that time.

  • New event requests should be sent to the Statewide Coordinator no later than February 28th.

  • TDCN coordinates registration for campuses of the UC, CSU and AICCU systems.

  • As part of being included on the TDCN circuit, all event hosts agree to not run a duplicate registration process for the UC, CSU and AICCU systems. However, event hosts may run their own registration process for any campuses outside of those systems.

  • Registration numbers vary from event to event depending on a variety of factors including but not limited to location (rural vs. urban), campus staffing constraints, campus outreach budgets and campus service areas.

  • Logistics changes to events should be sent to the Statewide Coordinator no later than June 25th.

  • Tentative date assignments will be sent to event hosts on or around March 15th.

  • All contact changes should be sent to the Statewide Coordinator no later than June 25th.

  • If your campus is part of the UC, CSU or AICCU system, you should use the online registration system. Instructions and the link will be sent to all campuses within those systems on or around June 1st.

  • All out of state campuses must register directly with the event host of each fair they wish to attend.

CMIH (College: Make It Happen)

  • College: Make it Happen is a multimedia roadmap through the college journey for middle-school students and the adults who guide them. With the CMIH suite of interactive curricula, technology, and resources, students, educators, and parents can delve into college-readiness like never before.

  • College: Make It Happen users are middle-school students, their families, and the educational communities who support them.

  • The CMIH workbook goes 3D with cutting-edge augmented reality technology with the CMIH app.

For Apple devices, head to the iOS App Store. The CMIH app is free to download and neither requires nor offers any in-app purchases. Once you’ve downloaded the app, open it up to get started. No username or e-mail address are required to use the app’s full functions.

ARCHES
(Alliance for Regional Collaboration to Heighten Educational Success)

  • The ARCHES Alliance is a statewide voluntary confederation of regional collaboratives. If a region has a desire to become a member of ARCHES, they apply using the ARCHES website or contacting the Executive Director. To apply, you should meet all or part of the following conditions:

    • Be composed of at least 2-3 of the following partners from K12 schools, a community college(s), a four-year college or university, business, workforce, community and/or family organizations.

    • Be dedicated to addressing the disparities in achievement for California students.

    • Facilitate college and career readiness for students from socio-economic and racial-ethnic communities with historically low college-going rates.

  • Applying College and Career Equity-based STEM Strategies (ACCESS) is a professional development package of services designed to help middle and high school teachers apply research-based, culturally relevant, and responsive teaching, equity-based mathematics strategies in their classrooms that support effective teaching of rigorous state standards and core competencies.

  • ARCHES-ACCESS is available to all to schools and teachers across California through a contract or as part of a grant funded program.
